I'm setting up an aux. PC in the home with Firefox and Thunderbird but I am trying to make this high on the WAF. In doing so I was thinking of installing FreeOffice over LibreOffice. I am also installing a Cinnamon Windows 10 theme to make the environment even more WAF.

          Anyone use FreeOffice?

Interesting, I hadn't actually heard of it. Thanks for mentioning it.

Is it the fork-de-jure of OpenOffice this week?

I'm not sure. I went looking specifically for LM office suites mimicking M$. Found a video on YT where he compared five products. There is another one that looks just as good, but the only way you are going to get it free is to d/l the code and compile it.

No, it has been around for years. I found a PCMag review from back in 2013. The company that created it, Softmaker (a German software company), sells a product called Softmaker Office and I guess this is a cut down free version of that. You have to give them an email address to get the product key, so I suspect they'll be spamming you to buy Softmaker Office.

I thought that LibreOffice was the defacto standard for open source office software now.

Microsoft Office Online is basically free now, so do have options available if you need to insure that your documents will render properly when you share them with other people.

WPS Office probably has closest UI as MS Office. But it's from China.
